Life is just dandy down here in the cold (most of the time, sometimes it gets pretty hot) depths of Antsirabe. The work is moving slowly, little by little, lesson by lesson, but we have seen miracles and quality progress. Since I really have nothing else to talk about, I'll give you a little blurb about some of the investigators we are blessed to be teaching--
T and V- An awesome young couple tracted into. Love the BiM, especially her, and understand the teaching super well. Always good lessons. Only difficulty is that he works on Sunday, so we gotta get them nice and converted to overcme that.
R and J R- Great young couple, she already comes to church but he hasn't yet. Two adorable kids. Sometimes hard to catch a time with, so progress has been slow.
L- The buffest Malagasy I have ever seen, just hugeee. But he is way cool, has tons of good Questions because he is really searching for the truth. He says he hasn't been praying at a specific church because everyone tells him conflicting things and he doesn't know who to believe.
P and fam- great family, parents and four kids, who are probaably one of the happiest and most loving households I have seen in this country. We have only taught them twice, but they devoured the first pamphet and had tons of questions about prophets and the BiM. Seem to be golden.
S- the closest to baptism that we have, a dad (but his family doesn't learn) who has had tons upon tons of struggles in his life, but is coming through victorious! So awesome. He didn't come to church for a long time because of problems in his life, but his faith has grown to where he is starting to put God before all that other stuff, and it works! He is progressing like a stud now, it is miraculous: exciting/insipiring. Love it
R and fam- Son is a member but they aren't. He struggles with drinking, smoking, and coffee, but talked about baptism from our very first lesson and seems determined to destroy whatever gets in the way of their getting baptized, so it's great. they come to church all the time.Tthey have a baptism date for 28th Marsa, so our biggest focus is the plan we created with them to overcome their addictions.
There ya go, those are a few of my favorites. We are finding new, quality people every week as the program gets stronger and stronger, so we feel extremely blessed. We also have been putting a big emphasis on less actives and working with members, so our relationship and success there is increasing as time goes on. Sometimes it is a sacrifice to go out of your way to work with members, but for sure worth it as we see it.
Well, that about does it. Isn't missionary work just the best, no matter how destroyed your shoes are or how hard it is raining or how many times you have to knock on doors? Why yes, yes it is. God loves all of His children. He expects us to do the same. That is love, ladies and gentlemen, the pure love of Christ. Everything we do is pointless without that love. We all need to take the pride, the jealousy, the unthoughtfulness, the carnal man, out of it. Now go, feed His sheep (they sure aren't our sheep by any means, but His that are entrusted to us).
